Registering for Moneybox is quick and easy - here’s an overview of what to expect:
⭐ Enter your personal details
First, you’ll need to enter your name, date of birth, mobile number, and email address to create your Moneybox profile. Please make sure the name you provide is your legal name and matches the name on your bank account.
We’ll then send you an email to verify your email address.
⭐ Select an account
Here, you’ll choose which account you’d like to open with us.
You’ll be able to read information on all our accounts before making your choice and throughout the registration process, you’ll have the option to go back to this stage and start again if you’ve changed your mind about your account or any of your settings.
Subsequent accounts can be opened in the Accounts tab of the app after you’ve finished registering.
⭐ Choose how you'd like to pay in
Once you’ve chosen which account you’d like to open, it’s time to pick how you’d like to make payments. You can pay in via one-off deposits, recurring weekly or monthly deposits, or by rounding up your spare change from your day to day purchases. All your payment settings can be changed at any time in the app.
If you’re looking to transfer an ISA or LISA held with another provider to Moneybox, this can be done in the Settings menu of the app once registration is complete.
⭐ Decide how to invest
If you’re opening an investment account, you’ll also need to choose where you'd like your money invested by choosing one of our investment allocations, or by creating your own custom allocation.
⭐ Enter your bank details
Then, just enter your bank details to set up a Direct Debit which you can use to make payments into Moneybox. We can accept payments from UK current accounts only, and the bank account you link must belong to you, the Moneybox account holder.
A Direct Debit does not mean you have to commit to regular payments or a fixed amount, and you can cancel your DD with your bank at any time.
⭐ Identity check
At this point we'll automatically run some standard identity checks behind the scenes using the details you have provided. Our Operations team will contact you by email if there are any issues.
⭐ Declaration
Finally, you'll need to agree to the declaration of the product you're opening, and, if opening an ISA, LISA, or Pension, enter your NI number, which is required by HMRC.
Once done, you’ll see an overview of your payment settings and be taken to the main app to start saving and investing for your future!
