Any funds you add to your Moneybox account are taken from your linked bank account, so you’ll need a UK current account linked in order to pay into your account. Having a Direct Debit does not mean you need to make recurring payments, and you can contribute through one-off deposits if you’d prefer.

You can add money to your account through any of these methods:

- Round ups

- Weekly deposits

- A monthly payday boost

- One-off deposits

We’ll collect whatever is in your upcoming collection total every Wednesday at midday. If this reads £0, then nothing is collected. This total then leaves your bank account the following Monday via Direct Debit, and is added to your balance in-app the next day.

If you’re registering for a Lifetime ISA, ISA, Personal Pension, Simple Saver, or GIA with us, you can also make one-off deposits using our instant bank transfer feature in Accounts > Add money > Instant bank transfer, and you do not need an active Direct Debit for this. So, if you’d prefer to solely deposit through instant bank transfers you’re more than welcome to cancel your Direct Debit with your bank 👍

If you’re not registering for one of the above accounts, or would like to set up automated payments through our weekly collection cycle, you’ll need an active Direct Debit in order for us to collect the funds.

Finally, if you're looking to transfer in an existing ISA, LISA or Pension, you'll still need a bank account registered to proceed. Once you’ve finished registering, ISA and LISA transfers can be requested in Settings > Transfer > Transfer in.
