How can I find out if I’m eligible for tax relief?

You’re usually eligible to receive tax relief from the government as long as you’re over 18 and under the age of 75.

However, there may be a limit on how much tax relief you can receive - this is usually dependent on how much money you earn in the UK.

As well as this, you'll need to either:

  • Have been a tax resident in the UK in the year you joined the pension scheme, and at some point in the 5 tax years before you make your pension contribution; or

  • You or your spouse have general earnings from overseas Crown employment during the tax year in question.
