What if the property purchase falls through, or the funds need to be returned to Moneybox?

If your property purchase falls through or gets cancelled, your solicitor can return the funds to your Lifetime ISA.

For this, please ask your solicitor to contact our Lifetime ISA team by email to lifetimeisa@moneyboxapp.com, and they will confirm the next steps. ​Once the funds have been returned, you'll see this reflected in your account balance in-app.

If you are worried about your property purchase taking too long, please note that HMRC rules state that you have up to 90 days to complete the property sale from the date we send the funds; however, this can be extended by up to a further 90 days if needed. If an extension is required, your solicitor should also request this by email.
